Cannula Competency

£500.00

Open entry · Any qualified injector · 1 day · 4:1 ratio

Cannula-first practice — deliberate, not occasional.

The clinical case for cannula is well established. Lower vascular occlusion risk, less bruising, more forgiving tissue planes. The clinical evidence is solid. What isn’t solid, for most practitioners, is the technique itself. Most practitioners learn it piecemeal: a module at the end of a foundation course, a half-day with a rep, a colleague who showed them once. The technical grounding was never really there, so the confidence never follows.

This course addresses that directly. Working with live models and Precision32 instruments throughout the day, across the areas where cannula genuinely outperforms needle: cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, jawline. The curriculum covers anatomy specific to blunt-tip work, because the safe planes and danger zones are different to needle — and most training doesn’t go into enough depth on that distinction. Every delegate leaves with a pack worth £400 including four dermal filler samples to use straight away.

Open to any qualified injector. No P32 Academy prerequisites, no minimum case numbers — just a full day’s commitment to getting the technique right.

Delegate pack value: £500. Please enquire.

Please note: this is a UK-based course. Bookings are only available to UK attendees.

Course Curriculum
  • Cannula anatomy in depth: gauge, wall geometry, exit port placement, and how each variable changes filler delivery behaviour
  • Entry point technique using a trocar: angle, tissue engagement, and achieving first-pass clean passage
  • Reading tissue by resistance: identifying depth and plane without visual confirmation Cheeks: medial and lateral approaches, fanning patterns, and layered HA placement for volume and lift
  • Lips: entry points, the difference between volume and border work, and managing asymmetry with a blunt tip
  • Nasolabial folds: retrograde threading technique, volume distribution, and the common overfill traps
  • Jawline and jowl: cannula-specific trajectory, depth selection, and product choice for definition versus support
  • When to needle, when to cannulate: clinical rationale for choosing each, not default habit
  • Vascular anatomy as it relates to cannula: the danger zones, how to recognise early compromise, and what to do
